Got weekend plans in Fort Worth? Here’s when showers and storms arrive in North Texas

Showers and storms will arrive in North Texas late Saturday, Jan. 25.

Rain chances (20%) will arrive with a weak cold front, with the best chances for precipitation south and east of the Metroplex, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. A few isolated thunderstorms are possible, although severe weather is not expected.

Storms will push southeast across the region over Sunday, Jan. 26, leaving around a 20% chance for the day. Daily temperatures Sunday will be in the 50s, followed by overnight lows in the 30s.

Rain returns next week

After rain exits the Metroplex on Sunday, chances return next week.

The NWS said no single day will be a washout. Instead, rain chances will be periodic. Here’s a look ahead:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 28- 20%
  • Wednesday, Jan. 29- 50%
  • Thursday, Jan. 30- 50%
  • Friday, Jan. 31- 30%
