The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for seven northwest Texas counties effective through 5 p.m. Sunday, according to a post on the office’s X page.

Besides the heavy rain that has already fell across North Texas, storms moving in from the west may produce large hail and damaging winds up to 70 miles per hour in Palo Pinto, Jack, Stephens and Wise counties, according to the NWS advisory.

Thunderstorms will remain in the area through Monday afternoon, according to an online forecast from the weather service.
