Is Dallas-Fort Worth ready for near-record fall heat this week? When you will feel it
Dallas-Fort Worth is in store for above normal temperatures and rain-free weather this week.

The normal maximum temperature for Oct. 21 is 77 degrees and 76 degrees on Oct. 22.
Temperatures on Wednesday Oct. 23 and Thursday Oct. 24 will be right around 89-90 degrees, which is near the the all-time high for those days.
The highest temperature ever recorded on Oct. 23 is 91 degrees in 1939, according to NWS data. The highest temperature ever recorded on Oct. 24 is 90 degrees in 2003.
Prater said the NWS will be watching closely on those days to see if temperatures get close to the records. As far as the normal maximum temperature for those days, it’s 76 degrees on Oct. 23 and 75 degrees on Oct. 24.
Temperatures will stick around the upper 80s on Thursday Oct. 24 and Friday Oct. 25. The normal maximum temperature for both those days is 75 degrees.

No rain in sight for Dallas Fort Worth
Along with the heat this week, Dallas-Fort Worth will stay dry.
The NWS isn’t expecting any rain chances in the next seven days, Prater said. In fact, this month is on its way to being the driest October in Dallas-Fort Worth history.
Through Oct. 20, the NWS hasn’t recorded a drop of rain this month.
If the rain-free trend continues over the rest of the month, October 2024 will go down as the driest October on record, Prater said. The annual normal precipitation total for October is 4.37 inches, according to NWS data.
