Many North Texans woke up on Wednesday Oct. 16 to temperatures in the 50s.

The temperature drop is welcome in the region that has had a rather warm October. This month has a total of seven days with high temperatures at or above 90 degrees, according to National Weather Service Fort Worth data.

The cooler weather stems from a cold front moving thought Dallas-Fort Worth overnight on Oct. 15.

High temperatures on Wednesday Oct. 16 will be in the upper 60s and in the low 70s on Thursday Oct. 17, according to the NWS. By this weekend, a warming trend will begin.

Temperatures will warm to the upper 70s on Friday Oct. 18 and Saturday Oct. 19. Highs on Sunday Oct. 19 and Monday Oct. 20 will be in the low 80s.

By Tuesday Oct. 21, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s.
