Dallas-Fort Worth will see a gradual warm up this week after a cool weekend.

High temperatures were in the low 80s over the past weekend with overnight lows in the low 60s, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth data.

Monday temperatures will be in the mid 80s, followed by an increase over the week, NWS meteorologist Allison Prater said.

High temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be in the upper 80s.

Wednesday will also have a 20% chance of storms in the afternoon hours, Prater said. Thursday will again be in the upper 90s, followed by low 90s on Friday.

Weekend temperatures are expected to be the warmest of the week with highs in the mid 90s. Due to an increase in humidity this week, heat index values could be around 100 degrees over the weekend, Prater said.
