Cold front to bring isolated storm chances to Dallas-Fort Worth. Here’s when
A weak cold front is moving into Dallas-Fort Worth this weekend, bringing isolated storms to the area.
The cold front coming through on Saturday won’t bring any cooler weather to North Texas, said Miles Langfeld, meteorologist at the National Weather Service Fort Worth office.
Instead, the cold front will bring a 10% chance of storms to Dallas-Fort Worth over Saturday afternoon. Areas south of the Metroplex and around Central Texas will have better chances of storms, Langfeld said.
Beyond the tiny chance of storms this weekend, North Texas will stay dry and hot.
“Unfortunately, that’s really the only chance of rain for our area in the next seven days,” Langfeld said.
Hot and dry week ahead for Dallas-Fort Worth
North Texas has recorded nine days over 100 degrees this year thus far and is likely to extend those numbers over the next week.
Temperatures on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be over 100 degrees, Langfeld said. The heat will continue into next week, with triple digit temperatures expected everyday.
Here’s a look at the 7-day temperature forecast:
- Friday- 104 degrees
- Saturday- 102 degrees
- Sunday- 100 degrees
- Monday- 101 degrees
- Tuesday- 101 degrees
- Wednesday- 103 degrees
- Thursday- 103 degrees
