Softball-sized hail hit Hood County Thursday afternoon as thunderstorms moved across the region, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
Much of North Texas remains under a tornado and severe thunderstorm watch, according to the NWS.
The 4.5-inch hail hit Granbury in Hood County around 4:45 p.m., the NWS reported.
Golf ball-sized hail was reported in Wise County near Chico around 1:15 p.m.
Large hail also touched down in the Alvord and Lake Bridgeport areas, and in Hood, Jack, Young and Montague counties.
A tornado watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday for Dallas, Tarrant, Ellis, Johnson and other neighboring counties.
