Here’s when hail, gusty winds hit Dallas-Fort Worth, according to weather service
Hail and gusty winds are possible over Dallas-Fort Worth on Wednesday as another line of storms roll in.
North Texas will begin Wednesday will light rain showers in the morning, before more severe weather moves into the region over the afternoon around 2 p.m., said Steve Fano, lead meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
The biggest storm threats for the region, such as hail and gusty winds, will stay west and southwest of the Metroplex near Cisco and Waco. As far as Dallas-Fort Worth proper, there’s only a 20% chance of severe weather Wednesday, Fano said.
“It doesn’t look like a big event tomorrow,” Fano said. “We just have kind of a marginal risk of some strong storms.”
The new line of storms come in the heels of the weather events North Texas saw over the weekend. Just last week, parts of the region was pummeled by baseball-size hail and even a tornado.
Rain fell continuously for hours overnight Sunday until drier air moved into the region early Monday, according to the NWS. Parts of North Texas saw up to 2 inches of rain.
What weather will be like in Dallas-Fort Worth for the weekend
After Wednesday’s storms, the remainder of the week in North Texas will be warmer with sunny skies.
Thursday’s high will be in the low 70s, followed by an even warmer Friday with highs in the upper 70s. Saturday will continue the warming trend, with highs crossing the 80-degree mark.
Highs for Sunday are expected to hit the mid-80s.
