Forecast: Widespread rain, isolated thunderstorms expected nearly every day this week

Rain was forecast to develop across Tarrant County on Sunday night and continue for much of the first half of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Light ice may accumulate early Monday along the Red River, where it was possible that freezing rain would fall overnight and, before sunrise, make bridges and overpasses icy, according to the weather service forecast.

Widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecast in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area through Wednesday. Stretches of heavy rain are possible. Most locations will see between 1 and 3 inches of rain during the period between late Sunday and Thursday, according to the weather service.

On Monday, rain will fall mainly before noon. Patchy fog will follow in the afternoon. The high temperature will be near 44 degrees.

There is a chance of showers early Tuesday. Areas of dense fog also are forecast. Otherwise, skies will be cloudy and the low temperature will be near 44 degrees, according to the weather service.
