For the first time in a long time, North Texas could see rain everyday this week. But could any of the storms be severe?

Temperatures in North Texas are expected to be in the mid 80’s to low 90’s throughout the week — thanks to a cold front. Rain chances begin Monday and last all the way until Saturday afternoon.

With the rain, can North Texas expect any chances of hail or strong winds?

“It looks like [we’re] not expecting severe [weather] through the rest of the week at this time,” said Allison Prater, meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.

For the early part of this week, the NWS is tracking rain and isolated thunderstorms.

Towards the end of the week North Texas could see stronger storms, but as the week progresses the NWS will have a better idea of how the weather is looking, Prater said.

Here’s a look at rain chances over North Texas this week:

  • Monday —30%
  • Tuesday —60%
  • Wednesday — 70%
  • Thursday — 70%
  • Friday — 60%
  • Saturday — 30%
  • Sunday — 0%
