Heat advisory in effect in North Texas until Tuesday night. When will this heat wave end?
North Texas is in for a scorcher this week with temperatures expected to be over triple digits every day.
A cold front broke up the heat wave over the weekend, lowering the temperature to the mid 90s. But the heat is roaring back into North Texas this week with no relief in sight, said Monique Sellers, meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
The high for Monday and Tuesday is expected to be 102 degrees, followed by 103 on Wednesday, 102 degrees Thursday and 101 degrees on Friday.
“No real big changes in sight, unfortunately,” Sellers said.
A heat advisory is in effect for several counties west of the Metroplex until 8 p.m. Tuesday. As the week progresses, another advisory announcement for North Texas is likely to happen, Sellers said.
As of Monday, North Texas has recorded 15 days over triple digits. The hottest day of the year was on July 18 with a sweltering temperature of 108 degrees.
