Fort Worth will see sunny temperatures over the weekend that will lead to cooler weather and rain chances going into next week.

Rain chances increase going into Sunday and continue well into Monday and Tuesday, said Allison Prater, meteorologist at National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. Sunday holds a 70% chance of showers, Monday at 50% and 70% for Tuesday.

Along with precipitation chances, cooler weather is also on its way with the high on Sunday in the upper 50 degrees, Prater said. Temperatures slightly increase going into next week, with Monday and Tuesday in the mid to upper 60s.

Friday and Saturday will be the sunniest days this weekend, with temperatures hovering around the mid 70s. Severe weather could be on the horizon for Texas going into next week, but storms are likely to not reach Fort Worth, Prater said.

“Looks like really any of the more strong to severe storms that we could possibly have over early week, would be further south of the Metroplex,” Prater said.
