It is going to get colder later this week, much colder.

So it looks like the coldest of the period is probably going to be Friday night and Saturday night. When, at least in the Metroplex, we will be down either a couple degrees above freezing or right at freezing,” according to Monique Sellers of the National Weather Service Fort Worth office.

Farther north, Sellers said, will see temperatures in the 20s.

But will North Texas see any snow?

Now, whether that lines up for winter precipitation is far too early right now to tell just because the details are kind of all over the place within the models at this point,” Sellers said.

A cold front rolled in late Monday night, moving through the Metroplex quickly. Cooler temperatures will continue through Thursday, ushering near-freezing temperatures by Friday night.

Daytime temperatures Friday and through the weekend will be in the 40s. There is a 20% chance of showers Saturday night and during the day Sunday.
