Cooler temperatures continue Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth, steep drop expected Wednesday
Cool temperatures continued Monday as a cold front moved into the North Texas area, and cooler weather should continue for the first part of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
Over the weekend, the area saw about 1/10 to a quarter of an inch of rain. On Monday, cloudy skies and a small chance of rain lingered in the early morning, said Jason Dunn, meteorologist with NWS. Any sprinkles were expected clear up by Monday afternoon, and sunny skies should return in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The temperatures for the first part of the week should be cooler with highs in the 60s and low 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to drop significantly, with a low in the 30s. The temperature could set a record, according to the weather service, as temperatures do not typically drop that low in North Texas until November.
On Thursday and Friday, temperatures will warm up again into the 80s.
