The Fort Worth area might get a taste of winter weather early Monday, but don’t expect it to stick around.

The National Weather Service said there is a slight chance of sleet until 10 a.m. Monday, but surface temperatures will be too high for anything to accumulate.

The forecast calls for a 30% chance of sleet or rain, but it should transition to plain old rain by 10 a.m. Showers could linger into the afternoon.

Temperatures should start out early Monday in the upper 30s, but will climb to about 50 during the day, according to the weather service.

The wintry weather will come just before temperatures start to rise throughout the week, with forecast highs in the low 80s on Christmas Eve and close to 80 on Christmas Day.
