Weather forecast in Fort Worth area calls for rain, rain and more rain this week
Chances are good that only fish and ducks will enjoy this forecast for North Texas.
Thunderstorms with the potential for heavy rainfall are expected to redevelop on Monday, and some isolated storms may produce small hail and gusty winds, according to officials at the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
Storms will be possible each day through the rest of the week in North Texas as an unsettling weather pattern takes over the area.
“By the end of the week, we should see one to three inches of rain,” said meteorologist Lamont Bain at the NWS in Fort Worth. “Of course, some areas will see less than that, and there will be places that will have more.”
On Memorial Day, the high should reach the upper 70s and there’s a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Weather forecasters say the potential for heavy rainfall will gradually diminish through the week and into the weekend, but any additional rain on saturated soils will cause flooding concerns in some neighborhoods.
Daytime temperatures will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
Here are your rain chances of showers and thunderstorms for the rest of the week:
▪ Tuesday: 70 percent
▪ Wednesday: 60 percent
▪ Thursday: 60 percent
▪ Friday: 50 percent
▪ Saturday: 40 percent
▪ Sunday: 30 percent
