Severe thunderstorms could bring damaging winds, hail to Dallas-Fort Worth on Tuesday
Tarrant County could be hit with a line of thunderstorms Tuesday night, according to Fort Worth’s office of the National Weather Service.
Between approximately 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesday, a cold front and upper-level disturbance could culminate in severe storms in the Fort Worth area, meteorologist Jennifer Dunn said.
Isolated storms and rain are possible Tuesday morning, but the chance of severe weather is highest Tuesday night, according to the forecast. The main threat will be damaging winds, Dunn said, although large hail is also possible.
“And with it being spring, we cannot fully rule out the tornado threat,” Dunn said.
The line of storms will move from northwest to southeast and also is expected to affect the Dallas area, according to the weather service’s forecast.
The storms should move out of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex by midnight.
