Severe storms with chance of hail expected in DFW leading into rainy weekend
Storms are expected to hit the Metroplex Thursday afternoon, and may be followed by a hot, humid and damp weekend, according to the National Weather Service of Fort Worth.
Thursday night, the Metroplex will likely see scattered showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe. The storms will likely be isolated to small areas, meterologist Ted Ryan said.
The storms may pop up between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and might bring hail and damaging winds, the National Weather Service of Fort Worth said in a tweet.
The rainfall is expected to continue into Friday morning, but those storms are not expected to be severe. Friday will be cooler than Thursday, with temperatures in the mid 60s, and the rain should peter out by the evening.
On Saturday, the chance of rain will not be as high as Friday, Ryan said. A round of rainfall might hit DFW, but the chance of showers was about 50 to 60%.
Saturday will likely be humid, damp and feel more like late spring with temperatures in the mid 70s.
