Fort Worth police look for truck that left I-35 crash scene; motorcyclist seriously injured;
A motorcyclist was in serious condition following an accident that shut down the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 35W near Ripy Street in Fort Worth on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.
In an update Monday, Fort Worth police detectives said they are looking for a newer model “gunmetal gray” Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier that left the scene of an accident in the northbound lanes of I-35W. After the collision, the driver of the truck is believed to have taken the Berry Street exit from I-35.
Police said the truck should have front right damage from its collision with a red SUV. Police asked anyone with information to call Detective Allcon at 817-392-4869.
The accident was reported about 4:10 p.m. Saturday on South Freeway near East Seminary Drive.
Details of how the motorcycle became involved in the crash are still being investigated.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police say.
All north and southbound lanes of I-35 were reopened at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
The traffic investigations unit is handling the investigation.
