Medical examiner identifies pedestrian hit, killed by TRE train in Fort Worth accident
A pedestrian died Thursday after being hit by a train in east Fort Worth, authorities said.
The eastbound Trinity Railway Express train “struck a trespasser” near Texas 360 and Trinity Boulevard, said Anthony Fuller, director of Trinity Railway Express, in a statement. The man was walking on the tracks, the TRE statement said.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Robert Lee Warren, 37, of Brooklyn, Illinois. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
“TRE works to promote track safety and discourages the public from using the rails as a shortcut,” Fuller said.
The fatal accident was reported about 7:30 p.m.
The Fort Worth and Euless Fire Departments, the Fort Worth Police Department and MedStar responded to the accident.
The public was advised to avoid the area.
