A full closure of State Highway 121 northbound and southbound from State Highway 10 to Handley-Ederville Road will start from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday.

The closure is due to the expected demolition of the I-820 southbound frontage road bridges over both SH-121 and the Trinity Railway Express, according to the city of Fort Worth’s website. The demolition will make way for future bridges as part of the I-820 East Loop Project.

Drivers should expect significant delays and seek an alternative route due to the closures, according to the Texas Department of Transportation

Southbound drivers on SH-121 should expect to exit at Trinity Boulevard, head west to Handley-Ederville Road and then head north to SH-121 to return to the highway, according to the city website. Northbound drivers on SH-121 will be diverted to exit at Handley-Ederville Road, head south to Trinity Boulevard and then east to I-820 to return to the highway.

TxDOT will have additional demolitions on the SH-10 bridge over I-820 and SH-121 from 9 p.m. Nov. 19 to 6 a.m. Nov. 22.
