A 2-year-old child was pulled from the pool at Pecan Plantation Country Club in Granbury on Thursday and flown to a Fort Worth hospital, Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said.
The child was breathing after paramedics performed CPR, Deeds said.
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched on a drowning call at 11:46 a.m. The helicopter ambulance taking the child to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth left the country club at 12:35 p.m.
A babysitter was with the child at the pool, Deeds said.
The Hood County Crimes Against Children Task Force is handling the investigation, though Deeds emphasized that doesn’t indicate foul play was involved.
“Any time a child gets hurt in Hood County, they’ll be notified,” Deeds said. “We look into everything.”
The child’s condition could not be learned Thursday afternoon.
