Police have arrested the husband of a 43-year-old woman found slain inside her Azle home early Friday.
Police responded to the 600 block of Dunaway Lane after receiving a 911 call at 4:37 a.m.
Inside, officers discovered the body of Doris Jean Andrews, according to a news release by Azle Police Chief Rick Pippins.
An autopsy is still pending but police officials say Andrews appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma to the head and body.
Police later identified the woman’s husband, 45-year-old Mark Phelps Andrews, as a suspect in the case and obtained a murder warrant against him.
He has been arrested on that warrant, officials said Friday afternoon, and is now in custody in lieu of $250,000 bail.
