Salvation Army of Laredo recruiting volunteers for Christmas in July bells
The Salvation Army Laredo is in search of volunteers to help with its Christmas in July Bell Ring as they prepare to place a bucket for weekends this month at the Walmart Clark Supercenter.
Christmas in July is happening July 17, 24 and 31 at the Walmart at 2320 Bob Bullock Loop.
The nonprofit is in search of bellringers to help with collections.
According to The Salvation Army USA, donations collected during Christmas in July help support local programs and services for families in need throughout the year. In Laredo, those services include community meals, family assistance, youth and senior programs, support for people experiencing poverty, adult services and the Salvation Army Family Store.
"Every ring of the bell helps provide food, emergency assistance, and hope to families who need it most," the Salvation Army Laredo said. "Together, we can make a lasting difference-one act of kindness at a time."
Up to 25 community hours will be awarded for every four hours of bell ringing. Students 18 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
