Smiles from Heaven invites students, community to volunteer this summer

Smiles from Heaven is inviting students and community members to volunteer this summer and throughout the year to support children and families affected by pediatric cancer and blood disorders.

The nonprofit recently recruited volunteers during a visit to United High School, where Fight Like a Kid Program Operations Lead and Volunteer Coordinator Sammy Hernandez connected with students interested in giving back to the community.

"We're grateful for the opportunity to share our mission and inspire the next generation of volunteers to help support local children and families fighting pediatric cancer and blood disorders," the organization said in a statement. "We invite students from all schools to volunteer and gain volunteer hours and the reward of giving back to their community."

Upcoming volunteer opportunities include the Zumbini Sensory Class on July 10, Smiles from Heaven Movie Day on July 14 and Kids Summer Camp from July 20-23.

"Whether you're helping at events, organizing donations, mentoring youth, assisting in our center or simply showing up with a smile you are making a real difference," the organization says on its Bloomerang profile. "No act of kindness is too small, and every volunteer plays an important role in creating a positive and uplifting environment for the children we serve."
