San Antonio flash flood warning delays summer programs at local schools

After the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the San Antonio area Monday morning, some local school districts delayed the start of summer programming.

NWS warned residents that the additional rainfall could bring "life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses."

Here is a list of the affected school districts:

Boerne ISD

The district closed Monday "due to the continued severe weather in the area," officials said online. Boerne ISD's board meeting scheduled for Monday will still take place.

Harlandale ISD

The district pushed back the start of all summer school programming, including ACE camps and summer activities, until 9 a.m. Officials noted that transportation services would operate on a delayed schedule.

Judson ISD

Due to flooding conditions, Judson ISD canceled all athletic camps, practices and district events on Monday. Summer school will continue as scheduled, they said.

"The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority," officials said.
