LPD: Woman arrested after slashing tires, threatening witness with knife
A woman was arrested after threatening a woman with a knife while slashing vehicle tires in a bank parking lot, according to the Laredo Police Department.
Officers responded at about 10 a.m. June 10 to a criminal mischief report in the parking lot of a bank in the 4800 block of San Dario Avenue.
A woman reported seeing the suspect, later identified as 43-year-old Amanda Fay Slaughter, slashing the tire of a blue Toyota Camry as she was leaving the area, police said.
The woman returned to record the incident, and Slaughter allegedly approached her with what appeared to be a knife. The woman drove away fearing for her safety.
A second woman reported finding a knife inserted into the rear passenger-side tire of her silver Nissan Rogue and told officers Slaughter had damaged the tire, according to police.
Bank employees, employees from a nearby grocery store and other complainants also reported slashed tires.
Jail records show Slaughter was booked into Webb County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and seven counts of criminal mischief. She remained held as of Friday morning on bonds totaling $57,000.
