LPD: Driver arrested after going 107 mph in construction zone with workers present
A driver was arrested after traveling 107 mph in a construction zone with workers present on Bob Bullock Loop, according to the Laredo Police Department.
An officer working Click It or Ticket enforcement at about 12:10 p.m. May 30 in the 7700 block of Bob Bullock Loop observed a white 2020 Cadillac CT5 speeding northbound.
The officer recorded the vehicle traveling 107 mph in a posted 55-mph construction zone while workers were present, police said.
After a traffic stop was conducted in the 7900 block of Bob Bullock Loop, the driver was identified as a 22-year-old man.
The man was found in possession of a handgun during the traffic stop, according to police.
He was charged with reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor, and unlawful carrying of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor.
Jail records show he was booked into Webb County Jail and released the same day after posting bonds totaling $4,000. He was additionally cited for speeding and driving without a license.
