Skillpoint offering free pre-apprentice electrical training program beginning June 8

HOBBS, NEW MEXICO Adults interested in launching a career in the electrical industry are invited to apply for the upcoming Pre-Apprentice Electrical Program offered by Skillpoint Alliance of the Permian Basin. This free training course will run from June 8 through July 2 providing participants with the skills, certifications, and industry connections needed to begin a career as an electrical apprentice.

The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the electrical field through hands-on training and industry-recognized certifications. Participants will learn electrical safety practices, the proper use of hand and power tools, residential and commercial electrical job functions, wiring techniques, conduit bending, and raceway assembly. No previous experience is necessary.

Students will also earn their OSHA 10 certification during the program and receive assistance entering the workforce with valuable credentials already in hand.

In addition to classroom instruction, students will have opportunities to meet local employers and shop representatives to learn about the wide variety of career pathways available within the electrical industry.

The demand for skilled electrical workers is growing with more than 10,000 electrical jobs projected to be added in Texas and New Mexico by 2028, a news release said.

Skillpoint Alliance encourages interested individuals to apply as soon as possible, as space may be limited.

This opportunity is perfect for anyone who is looking for a new career path, workforce training, or employment opportunities in the skilled trades.
