Mart woman charged with injuring elderly man at Bellmead motel

A Mart woman was arrested early Wednesday after police say she shoved her 65-year-old boyfriend at a Bellmead motel, leaving him injured.

Bellmead Police arrested Elisa Rhenee Alexander, 33, on a third-degree felony charge of injury to an elderly individual in the incident at 1302 New Dallas Highway.

Officers responded about 1 a.m. to a motel room where a man reported he locked himself in a bathroom after a woman had been pushing him, according to Alexander's arrest affidavit. The room door was partially open when they arrived, and a woman later identified as Alexander was on the bed.

The man told officers Alexander had pushed him into a wall during an argument, causing him to fall onto a table holding a microwave and coffee pot, according to the affidavit. Police observed a bloody scratch about three inches long on the man's torso, along with a smaller scratch on his neck.

Alexander confirmed the argument but told officers she threw a ring at the man after he pushed her, the affidavit says. Police said Alexander reported she was uninjured, and she did not have any visible signs of injury.

The man said he had pushed Alexander away in self-defense after she shoved him, according to the affidavit.

Alexander was booked in McLennan County Jail, where she remained on Friday with bail set at $3,000.
