Bryan man arrested for another DWI 3rd or more

Bryan police arrested a Bryan man Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third or more.

According to online jail records, this was the 19th time Martin Angel Espitia, 46, has been incarcerated at the Brazos County jail and the third time he has gone to jail for DWI third or more.

A police report says that officers responded to a report of a white truck weaving in and out of traffic near Texas 6 and Tabor Road and throwing a beer can out his window. The reporting party followed the truck to a gas station on Tabor Road and observed the driver getting out and going into the store and said he appeared to be "sloppy drunk."

Espitia was back in the truck and attempting to leave when officers arrived. They observed him dumping a 25 fluid ounce can of beer out the window. When officers approached, he allegedly told them he was going to pull forward, at which time an officer jumped on the vehicle, reached inside and put it in park.

Espitia was removed from the truck and arrested. He allegedly refused to consent to field tests and was taken to a hospital for a blood draw. A warrant was issued for the blood draw and afterward he was taken to the Brazos County jail where he is being held under a $20,000 bond.
