Affidavit: Man accused of breaking disabled roommate's nose in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills Police arrested a man Thursday after they believe he punched a disabled man he was living with, leaving him with a broken nose and a cut needing stitches, according to an arrest affidavit.

Shawn Jason Turner, 48, was arrested on a first-degree felony charge of injury to a disabled person.

Officers responded to a home in the 3800 block of Acree Street, where they found a man with blood "pouring down his face from a laceration above his left eye" and other visible injuries to his face, according to the affidavit.

The man told officers Turner punched him after an argument over items Turner believed belonged to his mother, the affidavit says. The man said he is disabled "due to an injury that leaves one of his legs not working."

Turner left before officers arrived but returned while medics were evaluating the man, telling him he was sorry and that he loved him, police reported.

Turner told officers the man "has pulled a shotgun on him in the past," and this time he "decided to fight the victim for control of the gun," according to the affidavit.

After being taken to a hospital, the man told officers his nose was broken and that he required stitches for his laceration, police reported. He also requested that a protective order be filed against Turner, who had been living with him for the past few months, the affidavit says.

Turner was booked in McLennan County Jail and remained there Friday with bail set at $25,000.
