DPS: Two Waco residents killed in head-on collision near Mart

Two Waco residents died in a three-vehicle crash early Thursday on Highway 164 near Mart, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Troopers responded about 6:30 a.m. to a crash about three miles west of Mart involving a Nissan Sentra, Ford Escape and Nissan Rogue, DPS said in a press release.

Preliminary information indicates the Sentra crossed over the center line for unknown reasons before striking the Escape head-on, according to the press release.

The driver of the Sentra, Anthony J. Fuentes, 55, of Waco; and the driver of the Escape, Rebecca L. Allen, 64, of Waco, were pronounced dead at the scene, DPS said.

The driver of the Rogue sustained injuries not considered life-threatening, the press release says.

The crash remains under investigation.
