Chairman Sparks announces staff for committee office

AUSTIN Chairman Kevin Sparks on Monday announced staffing changes to the Senate Committee on Natural Resources office, effective immediately. With the lieutenant governor's recent committee appointments, Chairman Sparks has now officially selected his team to lead the efforts of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources, which oversees the state's energy industry and environmental protection.

"I am proud to announce the team that will lead our Committee office as we head into the interim and prepare for the 90th Legislature," said Senator Sparks. "Each of these individuals brings a strong record of public service and a deep commitment to the people of Texas. With this team in place, I am confident we will continue delivering results on the issues that ensure the long-term interests of Texas. These topics will receive the proper attention and commitment they deserve. I look forward to the work ahead."

Senate Committee on Natural Resources

* Jeffrey Waldock - Committee Director: He is from Azle and is a graduate of Texas Tech University. Previously, he served as Legislative Director for Senator Sparks and before that as Chief of Staff for Representative Jared Patterson, with a total of eight years in the Texas legislature. He will serve as the primary contact for all committee issues and policy.

* Weston Hall - Deputy Committee Director: He is from Denton and is a graduate of Baylor University. Previously, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Sparks and as an Advance Specialist in the Office of the Governor. He will serve the committee by managing energy issues related to the committee.

* Jennifer Trevino - Committee Clerk & Senior Policy Analyst: She is from Cypress and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Previously, she served in her current role for Chairman Birdwell and before as a Senate Messenger. She will serve the committee through clerking and managing environmental issues related to the committee.
