Deputies responding to a shooting found a teenage girl at the home where her mother and father died in an apparent murder-suicide, Texas police said.

The 911 call came from a home on Houston’s far west side on Sunday, Aug. 31, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a post on X.

“Upon arrival, units located an adult male and female (husband & wife), both deceased. From preliminary information, the incident appears to be a murder-suicide,” Gonzalez said.

At about 10 p.m., deputies found a 48-year-old woman shot to death in the home, and her husband, 47, dead by suicide, officials told KTRK.

The call to 911 was made by the couple’s 16-year-old daughter, KPRC reported.

The daughter said she saw her parents fighting and ran away, then heard gunshots, KHOU reported.

Investigators say there was no history of domestic violence at the home, the outlet reported.

According to KTRK, investigators believe the fight was about the couple possibly divorcing.
