Influencers file lawsuit after car crashes through restaurant window in Texas
A pair of social media influencers have filed a lawsuit after they were caught in the middle of a vehicle crashing into a restaurant.
On Aug. 16, Denisse Muniz and Patrick Blackwood were eating at a Houston restaurant, according to a civil complaint.
The two were recording a video, which has expletive language, showing them sitting in a booth trying different foods. Just as the two took a bite, you can see a window being shattered and hitting them.
According to the complaint, a vehicle crashed into a glass wall of the building and hit Muniz and Blackwood.
The two were hit by debris and pieces of glass. The video shows them being treated at a hospital with cuts and injuries.
“It was a terrifying, scary experience, and like I said, one thing keeps replaying in my head was his facial expression,” Muniz, who also goes by Nina Santiago, told KHOU 11. “Like, we knew it was the end, but for some reason, it just wasn’t.”
The lawsuit said the property, controlled by Citadel Holdings LLC, had no barriers or other safety measures to prevent this from happening.
Contact information for Citadel Holdings LLC was not available on its website or social media pages.
“I’m glad to be alive,” Blackwood said in the video. “Most scariest (expletive) ever.”
“This experience showed me who truly matters; life’s too short for grudges or anger. Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you this could’ve been our last meal,” Muniz said in an Instagram post.
The lawsuit is asking for over $1 million in damages.
