A 13-year-old boy was fatally shot when gunfire came flying into a Texas apartment from outside, police say.

The shooting happened at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at an apartment complex on Houston’s west side, according to a police news release.

The teen, who police haven’t publicly identified, was in the living room when a suspect — or suspects — opened fire on the unit from the parking lot, police said.

Police say the boy was hit once and taken to a hospital where he died.

“At this time there is no known suspect(s) description,” police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact investigators at 713-308-3600.
