Powerball player wins big in Texas. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball player in Texas won $50,000, just missing the $90 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched four winning numbers and Powerball in the drawing Monday, June 16, the Texas Lottery said.
The lucky ticket was sold at Prontos Superette in Laredo, lottery officials told McClatchy News in an email.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $101 million, with a cash value of about $45.7 million, for the next drawing Wednesday, June 18, the national Powerball site said.
The winning numbers were 17, 21, 23, 27 and 52, with a Powerball of 19. The Power Play multiplier was 5x.
More than 260,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $250,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won May 31, when a California player hit the $204.5 million grand prize.
