A McDonald’s worker died following a shooting outside the fast food eatery in Texas, authorities say.

The victim, who was not working during the June 3 incident, arrived at the McDonald’s on Imperial Valley Drive in Houston in the midst of an argument he was having with his manager and the manager’s brother, police said in a briefing streamed by KHOU.

As the argument intensified in the parking lot, the manager’s brother pulled out a pistol and shot the worker several times in the arm and chest, authorities said.

Police did not provide details about the specifics of their argument.

Both the victim and accused gunman fled, but police said they were soon dispatched to a nearby apartment for a report of a man who had been shot. An investigation revealed the man was the McDonald’s gunshot victim.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. He has not been publicly identified as of June 4.

Officers said in a news release the accused gunman fled in an unknown vehicle and has not been captured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Houston police at 713-308-3600.
