Powerball player just misses $139 million jackpot — but still wins big in Texas
A Powerball player in Texas won $150,000, just missing the $139 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched four winning numbers, the Power Play and the Powerball in the Monday, April 21 drawing, the Texas Lottery site said.
The lucky ticket was sold at Graves Truck Stop in Carthage, which is about a 195-mile drive southeast from Fort Worth, lottery officials said.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $151 million, with a cash value of about $69.3 million, for the next drawing Wednesday, April 23, the national Powerball site said.
The winning numbers were 4, 33, 45, 46 and 51, with a Powerball of 25, the site said. The Power Play multiplier was 3x.
More than 350,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $150,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won March 29, when a California player hit the $527 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
