Powerball players win $50,000 prizes in Texas. Where were the lucky tickets sold?
Two Powerball tickets sold in Texas won $50,000 but just missed the $398 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The tickets matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Monday, March 17, the Texas Lottery said.
The lucky tickets were sold at a Quick Stuff store in San Antonio and a United Supermarket in Vernon, which is about a 165-mile drive northwest from Fort Worth.
Tickets sold in Pennsylvania and Colorado won $1 million in the drawing.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $416 million, with a cash value of about $194.1 million, for the next drawing Wednesday, March 19, the national Powerball site said.
The winning numbers were 11, 18, 23, 38 and 60, with a Powerball of 9, the lottery said. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
More than 505,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won Jan. 18, when an Oregon player hit the $329 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
