One day, a dog found aimlessly walking the streets of Texas is without a home, family and soap. The next day, he’s starting a completely new life.

At first glance, this sweet male poodle with matted fur and in need of treatment might look like a gray — or silver poodle.

But the lonely fella was neither.

“A kind-hearted Good Samaritan found this poodle wandering alone in a neighborhood and brought him to Houston Humane Society. He was completely matted and in need of serious care, but we knew his transformation was just beginning!” the Houston Humane Society said in a March 17 Facebook post.

“With the help of a specialist groomer, he got a much-needed makeover, revealing the sweet, loving pup underneath all that fur. Then, a wonderful family met him and instantly knew he was meant to be theirs. Now, he’s off to his forever home, where he’ll be the one and only pup, loved beyond measure!”

The pictures show a lovely dog, with fur the color of alabaster.
