2-year-old still missing after car connected to disappearance found in Texas, cops say
Officials in Texas and Oklahoma are working to find a 2-year-old boy who has been missing for a month.
Anthony Wayne Stroder was last seen on Jan. 27 in Midwest City, Oklahoma, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Anthony is believed to be with his non-custodial mother, 22-year-old Katelyn Thornton, and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Aurelio Cardenas, according to a Feb. 8 missing child alert from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Cardenas is a registered sex offender, officials said.
The vehicle the three were believed to be traveling in, a 2011 GMC Acadia, was found abandoned in Amarillo, authorities announced this week, according to KOCO.
“I believe the longer the child is missing, the further the endangerment becomes,” Potter County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Eric Hooker told KWTV. “Just based off of not being in his comfort zone, not being with, you know, accurate family members.”
Anthony is 3 feet tall, 27 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
Thornton is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 240 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Cardenas is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
