Mom finds ‘sexual conversations’ between teen daughter and Texas cop, Oklahoma cops say
An Oklahoma mother discovered her teen daughter was having “sexual conversations” with a 31-year-old man on Snapchat, police said.
The man sending photos that were “sexual in nature” to the 15-year-old was a police officer in Corpus Christi, Texas, the Tulsa police department said in a Jan. 22 Facebook post. He was identified as Daniel Verduzco.
“Verduzco has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation that may lead to disciplinary action up to and including his termination,” the Corpus Christi Police Department said in a Jan. 20 news release.
The mother told police the family used to live in Corpus Christi before they moved to Tulsa at the end of 2024, police said.
The exchanges on Snapchat included “conversations and photos that were sexual in nature” between the victim and Texas officer going back to May 2024, police said.
Tulsa police said it was likely that Verduzco engaged in sex acts with the teen while the family still lived in Texas.
Verduzco was arrested and charged with coercion and enticement, a federal offense, police said. Police said he could face additional charges following an investigation by Corpus Christi Homeland Security.
Corpus Christi is about a 670-mile drive south from Tulsa.
