Police in Texas are investigating after they say three people went into a Buc-ee’s and stole the mascot costume.

Police were called to a Buc-ee’s store in Pearland on Jan. 1, according to the Pearland Police Department.

On New Year’s Day, three people went into the Buc-ee’s office and stole the “Buc-ee the Beaver” mascot costume, police said.

The three took the head, gloves, shirt and feet of the costume, which totaled over $1,900, according to police.

Surveillance footage showed three males going into the office, authorities said.

After asking the public for help, police released an update saying they identified the three males. It’s unclear if any arrests have been made or if the costume has been recovered.

The department did not immediately respond to a Jan. 15 request for comment from McClatchy News.

Pearland is about a 20-mile drive south of Houston.
