A Texas man was shot after arriving at his home and finding his ex-wife and two men inside, police say.

The shooting happened on the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 11, at a house on San Antonio’s northeast side, the police department said in a news release.

Investigators say the 38-year-old man came home after work at about 4 a.m. and discovered the woman in bed with another man, KENS reported.

He confronted the man, who police say had brought a friend with him. The friend started shooting at the victim, and one round hit him in the arm, police said.

Wounded, he fled the house, police said, adding that he “waited several hours before reporting the shooting.”

According to police, the man said he was “too scared to call earlier” and waited until everyone had left his home before returning to call for help, KENS reported.

A call came in at 10:21 a.m., nearly six hours after the man was shot, according to police. He was taken to a hospital.

The man and woman have children together, but the kids were not home during the shooting, police told the station.

Neither of them are cooperating with the investigation, police said. The woman told investigators she dropped the two men off at a motel but shared little else, the outlet reported.

Police are searching for the alleged shooter and the “investigation remains ongoing,” the department said.
