3-year-old twin girls drown in apartment swimming pool, Texas cops say. ‘A sad moment’

Two 3-year-old girls died after being found unconscious in an apartment complex’s swimming pool, Texas authorities say.

The twin girls were discovered by a maintenance worker at the Sherman apartment’s pool around noon on Wednesday, Aug. 28, according to KTVT.

Life-saving measures were administered to the girls, who were then taken to a hospital, the Sherman Police Department said. They were pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said its officers are investigating the incident as a criminal matter. It’s unclear where the children’s parents were.

The names of the children have not been publicly released, but KXII reported they lived at the complex with their parents.

“This is a sad moment,” Carrie Curry, who lives at the apartment complex, told KXII. “This is so sad. And it’s a prayerful moment. We need to pray for our children. We really do, take care of your babies.”

Sherman is about a 65-mile drive north from Dallas.
