Everything is big in Texas, and according to research, so is the fun.

Texas is the seventh most fun state to live in America, a recent WalletHub study found.

“Living in one of the most fun states can boost your mental, physical, and emotional health by giving you a wide range of activities to choose from, both indoor and outdoor,” Cassandra Happe, a WalletHub analyst said. “These states help residents stay active and socialize, and they’re also ideal for travelers who want to make the most out of the limited amount of time that they have to explore.”

From those who love the outdoors and sports to those who would rather curl up with a movie, everyone is sure to find something that piques their interest in the states that made the list.

Florida ranked as the number one fun state, followed by California and Nevada.

WalletHub also ranked cities and found that Austin ranked seventh among the most fun cities. Houston ranked 19th, followed by San Antonio at No. 25 and Dallas at No. 31.

How did WalletHub come up with its rankings?

WalletHub examined the 50 states based on 26 important factors to determine who had the best fun-filled opportunities.

Factors included the price of movies, how easily accessible national parks are, and the number of nightclub selections per person.

A 100-point scale was used to score each of the 26 metrics to determine the states.
