An argument over a parking space left one person dead in Texas, police say.

Around 6:45 p.m. on July 13, Houston police were called to an apartment complex for reports of a shooting, according to a July 15 news release.

When police arrived, they said they found an unresponsive 24-year-old man lying on the ground in the parking lot.

Witnesses told investigators that the man and his family members got into an argument with another person over a parking space. Then, a vehicle pulled up and a man, 25 to 30 years old, got out and shot the man multiple times, police said.

Police said the shooter took off.

One of the man’s family members tried to drive away and accidentally ran over him, police told KRIV.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released the name of the man. The shooting is under investigation.
