A teenage snow cone worker’s response to a rude customer has caught the attention of TikTok viewers, who are applauding how the teen handled the situation.

The owner of Keke’s Snow Balls in Willis, Texas, said in the caption of the TikTok that a customer had come to the business with an issue from two days prior.

The customer ordered a snow cone and also prepaid for one for her daughter to pick up, according to the owner. But due to a shift change, there was confusion over the order and the second snow cone was not received by the customer.

When the woman was refunded her $6, the worker closed the screen door to the shop, causing a sign to fall, the video shows.

The video shows the woman walk back, push the sign, then insult the worker.

The video, which contains strong language, can be seen here on TikTok.

The worker then had a response of her own — one the owner spoke of proudly.

“Ma’am, please don’t act like that, you’re a grown woman. You’re a grown woman; I’m 17,” the worker says. “Get out of here. Don’t come back. Don’t come back. We don’t need your business.”

The shop has posted two TikToks about the encounter, with both receiving more than 17.9 million views as of July 3.

Thousands have commented, highlighting the “mature” response from the 17-year-old.

“She’s amazing. Very mature for her age and handled it extremely well. Perfect response,” one commenter said.

“I’m proud of you for handling it the way you did and I’m embarrassed that she behaved that way towards you,” another woman said.

The owner of the shop said the video was posted to show “how we handle situations as adults.”

“I am proud of our supervisor’s handling of the situation,” the owner said. “While businesses often face complaints, it’s rare to highlight mistreatment of staff. ...We must strive for better behavior and respect in all interactions.”

Willis is about a 50-mile drive north from Houston.
